Ganymede appears to possess numerous ocean levels, stacked up with levels of ice between them. The best volume of ice would be the crust, which could be about 150 kilometers (about 90 miles) thick. The lowest ocean amount could possibly be 800 kilometers (about 500 miles) underneath that, just above the initial layer on the moon’s rocky interior.
